At 221B.C we take great pride in cultivating our own kombucha culture known as SCOBY (symbiotic colony of bacteria and yeast). This natural powerhouse works in harmony to convert organic sugars, functional herbs, and tea leaves into the refreshingly tangy super tonic known as kombucha.
New to water kefir? You’re not alone. Many people are familiar with dairy-based kefir, but couldn’t enjoy the fermented benefits due to the use of milk. We see you and we have a solution.
As with our kombucha SCOBY, we at 221BC cultivate our own kefir culture. These tibias, or water kefir grains, do not contain any actual “grains”. Rather, they are a cluster of beneficial bacterial and yeast that work together symbiotically to ferment sugary water into the nutritional elixir that is water kefir.
